Job Summary :

The person hired for the position of Manufacturing Process Engineer will be responsible for continuous improvements to high performance label products and the supporting equipment. This operation requires aggressive delivery of complex and diverse solutions which drive results in EHS, quality, customer service, cost reductions, and new product qualifications.

 Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

·  Maintains an awareness of quality improvements, product opportunities, and is productive in suggesting and proving ideas. Develops and implements equipment and processes of major complexity
·  Implementing PPU across multiple manufacturing platforms
·  Developing new processes in support of product development and technology platforms. Ensure proper design, build, and qualification of product and equipment
·  Using appropriate engineering methods as well as theoretical and empirical techniques in the design of new processes, such as SPC and DOE
·  With minimal supervision, initiates, identifies, recommends, and oversees programs to improve: 1) product quality, customer service, delivered cost, and/or 2) process safety and health/environmental impact
·  Fosters and cultivates and extensive network of support and resources (laboratory, quality, financial, manufacturing, engineering, sales, and marketing) to facilitate completion of assignments
·  Manage Engineering Work Request and Management of Change systems
·  Assess & develop capability of mechanics on their role in reliability improvement and to advance their technical capabilities
·  Analyze data (failure, cost, uptime, etc.) using appropriate reliability analysis tools to develop & implement improvement plans
·  Actively participates in developing project assignments and completes assignments without detailed instructions
·  Cross-functional team leadership for new product start-ups, new process technology integration, cost reduction, and supply chain improvement using Lean Six Sigma
·  Maintain an awareness of implications of intellectual property on the processes
·  Leads cross-functional teams involving programs with significant manufacturing emphasis and major business impact
·  May assist in the development of other technical employees by training, guiding, mentoring, setting an example, and offering counsel
·  Leads project planning efforts and may participate in the departmental or division strategic planning process
·  Recognized and utilized as an internal consultant at the department/plant level
·  Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:  

·  Possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science, engineering, or technology discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
·  Minimum two (2) years of manufacturing engineering experience in a private, public, or military environment

Preferred Qualifications:

·  Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Material Science and Engineering
·  Experience with coating, priming, and/or drying roll goods in web line applications
·  Experience with solvent coating technologies
·  Experience with web handling technologies
·  Ability to analyze, problem solve, and implement solutions
·  Knowledge and experience in applying Six Sigma tools
·  Effective project management skills with proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget
·  Excellent organizational skills
·  Ability to multi-task and handle large workloads under time constraints
·  Ability to self-direct
·  Works well on and leading cross-functional teams in a continuous improvement environment
·  Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and/or Minitab
·  Excellent computer skills – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Project
·  Excellent communication, both verbal and written, and influencing skills
·  Experience in managing projects involving capital expenditures
·  Experience with process scale-up project experience
·  Experience with maintenance and/or reliability engineering
·  Experience with industrial mechanical components (pumps, motors, rolls, shafts, bearings, gears, belts, pulleys, etc.), PLC/HMI/Drives, motor drive systems, motion control, vision systems, etc
·  Experience with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), reliability analysis, Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Predictive Maintenance (PdM) and Preventative Maintenance (PM)
