Job purpose:
Within the IT innovation team based in Osaka International Airport, you will design, implement and manage a BI framework in English that will turn airport’s data into critical information and knowledge that can be used for optimization of security response, airport organization and monetization.
Duties & responsibilities:
- Understand and map all airports structured and unstructured data used and generated by airports systems, aero systems, retail systems and end-users;
- Design the processing of data at scale (such as ETL) using a framework of existing tools, vendors and services;
- Take the lead for technology/vendor selection and bring its technical expertise to establish a powerful framework;
- Work closely with vendors to implement amazing data innovations and algorithms to compute our data;
- Work closely with BI end-user needs to implement an efficient presentation layer;
- Make proposition of innovative business approaches using BI technologies.
The mission offers the opportunity to follow a BI framework implementation project from its planning phase all the way to the implementation and monitoring of the system. This role will lead to managing all BI activities in the airports and develop a dedicated BI team.
Qualifications:
- Experience in data processing, business intelligence or business analysis;
- Experience of building and operating data warehouse solutions (including expertise of query/scripting languages);
- Be proficient in designing and optimizing data mart for specific requirements;
- Advanced understanding of ETL workflows and analysis algorithms;
- Knowledge of big data technologies (like Tableau, Hadoop, Spark, AWS EMR, BigQuery, Teradata, etc.);
- Familiarity with Airport’s systems and vendors a plus;
- Self-motivated, self-driven, ability to take challenges;
- Be creative, curious and pro-active;
- Good communications skills;
- Business level in English and basic Japanese (for every-day life).
