ABOUT SAP HANA Database as a Service (DBaaS)

SAP HANA Database as a Service (DBaaS) is a full managed cloud service offering of SAP. As a DevOps Engineer, the focus of your daily work will be to engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of SAP HANA DBaaS services. From inception and design, through deployment, operation and refinement. You will support services before they go live and maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency and overall system health. Automation of routine tasks, insuring the reliability of these services just as incident response and postmortems will be part of your daily work. SAP HANA DBaaS offering will base on all major cloud platform providers.

At SAP in Seoul we also focus on the following areas of SAP HANA core development, quality management, and customer support:

·  Transaction, Metadata, and Session Management
·  Storage Management (e.g. RowStore Table)
·  Distributed Processing (incl. Replication, Active/Active Read Enabled)
·  SQL Query Frontend, Compiler, Optimizer, and Execution
·  Tooling for Database Monitoring and Administration
·  Quality Assurance (e.g. customer scenario testing)
·  Development Support

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Required skills

·  Strong analytical skills, ability to structure complex problems, and to do conceptual work
·  Experience in cloud platforms, cloud infrastructure and cloud technologies
·  Advanced Linux administration skills
·  Experience with Docker, Git and Gerrit
·  Experience in one or more of the following: C, C++, Java, Groovy, Python, Go, Perl or Ruby
·  Very good communication and presentation skills in both Korean and English
·  Strong team player

Preferred skills

·  University degree in computer science or related areas with excellent grades
·  Knowledge and interest of the Site Reliability Engineer’s mindset and the DevOps principles

WORK EXPERIENCE

·  Interest in designing, analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems
·  Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with strong communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive
