Job description

You will be part of the Professional Services team within the Indirect Product and Services Purchasing organization and you will be in charge of the competence and development (or training) segment and potentially some other segments for France, Belgium and Sweden.
Competence and Development is one of the growing segments as part of Volvo plan to develop in a more efficient way his employees. It consists of buying training from A to Z or off the shelf including trainer services but also training material, e-learning, ... including challenging the supplier/the stakeholder on Optimization of the Demand.
Your main tasks will be to work hand in hand with the segment leader buyer to deploy the category strategy on European level, to drive all sourcing activities for new projects, optimize total cost by reducing over specifications, support strong recommendations towards the stakeholders and by challenging the requirements. You will be the full owner of your portfolio and you will have the opportunity to handle all the varied tasks of the role from sourcing up to supplier selection and agreement signature including strategic reasoning.

Responsibility:
- Drive the sourcing activities for your purchasing portfolio
- Negotiate challenging price and legal agreements
- Select and set the supplier base for your area of responsibility
- Build and maintain strong business relationships with our suppliers
- Work in close cooperation with the global commodity buyer in order to contribute to the global strategy
- Lead innovative solution inside the company in a total cost of ownership approach
- Drive changes in purchasing processes and stakeholders behavior
- Close tracking of supplier performance
- Closely monitor market developments and the best practices available in the market
- Build and maintain a strong relationship with internal cross functional stakeholders
Profile:
- Experience in purchasing is a plus
- Strong analytical and synthesis skills
