Graduate Software Engineer
The Media Processing Group (MPG) produces graphics, video and display hardware as well as software products for mobile and embedded devices. The Mali™ range of Media Processors offers an advanced, programmable architecture for hardware acceleration of 2D and 3D graphics and video. Our flagship Mali processors set a new standard for performance, while continuing the ARM tradition of low-power consumption. Our hardware is supported by high performance software drivers for multiple different operating systems, including Android, Linux and Windows. We also work closely with colleagues in the ARM Processor Group, the Physical IP Group and the System Design Group.

We are now hiring in the Video Team and looking for a software engineer who has recently graduated and who has strong interest in programming, to improve and maintain our internal video model. In the job, you will learn more about modelling, hardware design and video coding. The role involves cooperating with the hardware and firmware teams in Lund, where the video model is used for development and verification.

Are you a good fit for ARM?
The successful candidate will be graduating from university in 2017 with a Masters in computer science or electronics engineering with good academic record. This is a graduate position, so no working experience required.

Job Requirements

Essential skills and experience that we look for in a successful candidate include:
• Strong C programming skills
• General programming and scripting skills (e.g. C++, python, bash)
• Interest in software design methodology, or
• Interest in hardware design, or
• Interest in video coding

It’s a bonus if you also possess:
• Experience of working in and with Linux
• Experience in hardware modelling (e.g. SystemC)
• Basic knowledge of hardware development: Test benches and hardware simulation
