Team Description

The Cars and Leisure department’s mission is to develop high quality, innovative solutions in the area of Cars rental, Taxi/Airport Transfer, Cruise and Travel Insurance, that make a difference for Amadeus customers.

Combining cutting-edge technology with travel industry experience, Amadeus CARs Research & Development (R&D) Team is in charge of developing and maintaining CARs Distribution Products, helping car rental companies distributing their products in multiple channels across the globe.

Amadeus Cars connects Car Rental Companies to the world's largest travel marketplace with over 400K Travel Agencies Terminals, 67K airline offices in 195 countries around the globe.

Each day, CAR Back-end system is processing around 25Millions transactions, generating 17K bookings (Passenger Name Records, PNR).

Main objectives of CAR business are to expand our business to new markets and to better serve our existing customers that become always more demanding, especially on the Online Channel (strong needs in terms of availability of the system and response time constraints).

Main responsibilities

The main objective of the topicis to help the team to develop a Business Intelligence on top of CARs Distribution System, allowing to gather statistics on Production live traffic and to easily access information on the usage/performances of the system, including some amongst the following Key Performance Indicators (KPI):

· Statistics on Booking requests done:
· By a given customer/market;
· Through a given channel;
· Via a given CAR provider/CAR Group.
· Look to Book ratio (number of Booking Committed/total of Booking Requests)
· Success ration of booking for a given channel/customer/market (important for monitoring Service Level Agreements with our Customers/Providers, SLA)
· Shopping requests made per customer/channel
· System Response time for a given customer and per kind of client request

CARs BI will serve the several kind of users for multiple purposes. Hereafter some examples:

· Business Unit/Sales Team in order to monitor the usage of our system from the Customer and Provider standpoints and to create new strategic business opportunities;
· R&D Development Team in order to monitor usage and performances of CAR Distribution System;
· R&D Development Maintenance team to make correlations between Software Changes and bookings/back-office requests and system performances.

What you will obtain

You will have the opportunity to learn the insights of Amadeus Software architecture and to help the team tobuild on the top of it a new business layer (BI).

You will helpan Amadeus R&D Team, see how it is organized in order to always better serve our customers and improve time-to-market (Agile methodologies: Scrum, Kanban; peer coding; Test Driven Development, TDD)

·
You will have the possibility to evoluate in a multicultural and multi-skilled team (C++ Back-End development, Java Back-end and UI development, Angular JS)

·
You will have the freedom to choose between the latest cutting-edge technologies for BI (Kafka, Spark, MAPR, Hadoop)

What is expected from you

Strong interest on Software Development and new technologies, with a strong focus on Customer needs.

Strong interest in Business Intelligence applications, data mining and analytics.

Web development experience is a plus.
