Chief Accountant / Finance specialist

Job description

Tasks:
General Accounting:
- Perform general accounting activities and provide advice on accounting matters
- Perform the month end closing process, including preparation of monthly balance sheet account reconciliation and calculation
- Ensure transparency and correctness of local taxes, statutory requirements and USGAAP; as well as be responsible for timely tax payments and other general accounting related tasks

Business controlling:
- Support in business planning and forecasting process
- Monitor achieved progress and provide insight and analysis to support operational decision making

Financial reporting and business information:
- Establish and oversee processes and tools that are necessary to obtain transparent and reliable financial data and business information

Internal controls and compliance:
- Ensure compliance with corporate and country standards, regulations, guidelines
- Support internal and external audits

Desired profile

Requirements:

- University degree in accounting or finance
- 3-5 years of experience in accounting and/or controlling
- Excellent knowledge of local GAAP, basic knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS, local tax regulation, asd
- Experience with internal control procedures
- Excellent Latvian and English written and verbal communication skills
- Strong leadership skills, result orientation and internal customer focus
- Very good cooperation and communication skills
- Proactive and independent personality with stress resistance and positive attitude
